Some of you might remember my rescue puppy "Doobie". He had a little problem with leaving kibble-dribble all over the house when he ate. Well, Good news, with a switch to softer food, he has began to eat over his dish!!
Also, I've finally solved his chewing problem by giving him a "nylabone for strong chewers" It keeps him busy for days! Now, I just bought brand new furniture..and, of course, he loves to curl up on the sofa and snooze. But his claws and fur make a mess of it! So, Is there an easy way to train him not to get on the furniture? Ive seen the chemical sprays.....but are they any good?

I would just try to use positive re-enforcement. Correct your dog *immediately* when he gets on the couch. When he gets off, praise him.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Soon your dog will get the idea that its good to stay off the couch.
