When I'm just "normally" stressed out, I eat constantly. If I get super stressed out, like panic mode, then I don't eat at all - when I panic, I get nauseus, which doesn't bode well for eating.

I'm not a stress eater, I'm a stress smoker.
I eat mostly when I'm bored, but have been getting a lot better at it. Actually, I've only 2 meals a day in the last 2 weeks, because of stress. I don't eat a lot when I'm stressed cause I'm a stress smoker and smoking takes away my appetite.

I'm a stress eater, mainly chocolate, I crave it really badly when I stress. However sometimes I think I eat as an avoidance technique. Like I'm working on a project and suddenly feel like I could use a bowl of ice cream. And I can't work on the project while I eat the ice cream, that could make a mess. So I'll go eat it over there, far, far away from project. Then ten minutes later I could really use a drink to wash down that food, so I have to go slowly drink that, over there. So on and so forth.

I flip back and forth but when I go into overeating mode it's pretty frightening. I really focus on chewing my food and it seems to slow me down amd make me eat less.
