If you want to show AKC, she'll have to be spayed before you can. If there are other events in your area, I wouldn't let that be your determining factor.
There are a great many intact female dogs competing at high levels and achieving championships in performance sports. It CAN be done, it just takes more effort to time the training and trialing.
