When I was a kid the neighbor up the road had a real talent for lion and bear hunting with dogs. This was of course pre ban.
His primary pack was five hounds. One was a RR x airedale, another two were a pair of sisters who were some kind of leopard hound mixed with something large and wirehaired - one was a walkerhound, and the last one was a heinz from the local animal shelter of truly unknown origins.
I'd agree with pops that few cats will choose to deal with hounds unless they've got kittens - bears here are far less predictable but they too will usually choose to tree than face more than one dog.
