Default Forward leash walking ideas ...

Savvy the Sheltie is 1 year old.
She is very hyper when I take her for walk.
Everything form school bus to dogs to people to birds
gets her attenion and often tounge.
She does not heal to my left side as we trained her at puppy class.
She turns around and lashes out at anything that gets her attention.

Any ideas how I can heal walk her to my left when in real world ??
She does that when there are no distractions but as soon as
something gets her going she is all over the place.

Teach leave it.

Reinforce her for looking at a distraction and not lunging.

Reinforce her for giving you attention without you having to ask for it.

Reinforce her for just heeling with you.

Exercise her a lot before going on your walk.

Use a front-clip harness so that you don't inadvertently reinforce her for pulling/lunging.

Take a more advanced training class (most puppy classes don't really address heeling with distractions).

Also - the clicker is wonderful to work with on loose leash walking, and dogs can always use brush ups on this training, because its self-rewarding to pull. Maddie's 9 and I just worked on clicker-heeling last weekend to brush up on it, and we had a good time (and she was more tired from the walk woot! lol)

kikopup's No Pulling!
kikopup's Go Sniff - my only suggestion on this video would be to give the treats out of your left hand, if you'r dog is heeling to the left It's hard (for me anyway lol) but it makes a much nicer heel.

oh wth, any of them on here really:

Bratt - Thx on video.
I will go back to clicker and rewards as we used in puppy class.
