Most working/sporting breeds can do all that. I would just talk to rescues and get the right dog, vs the right breed. BCs can be a lot of dog if you aren't prepared for it!

Have you looked at Petfinder.com? You can search the rescues in your area and see pictures and descriptions of the available dogs.

I feel I should point out...with the schedule it seems you need a pup to keep, you would probably be better off getting an older rescue (like not a puppy I mean)

I had literally had her for a day. They made a mistake giving her to me because she wasn't ready to come home yet. The clerk that gave her to me messed up. She was in the middle of a treatment that now has to be started over.

...so this petstore is keeping sick puppies out where they are not only with other puppies, but are being picked up by a gazillion people who then go on to pick up and play with other puppies at that store, never mind all the dogs they come into contact afterwards.

OP, sounds like you did the right thing taking her back. I know it must've been hard, but in the long run I bet you'll be happier.

Oh yes, me too. I go into a puppy-selling pet store about once every 10 years. It takes me that long to forget what it's like.
