Tucker has been shedding pretty bad lately and mom said between him and the two cats her allergies are starting to bother her a lot. Tucker has the standard double sided brush, pins brush on one side, soft bristles on the other. It takes out some of his hair but not a ton. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a type of brush for his type of coat. It's not short enough to use the cats' rubber brush on, but it's not exactly long either see:
![]() I wanted a furminator but I'm not going to spend almost $40 on a brush. So any ideas?

Well, I managed to get a two pack off amazon for about 20 dollars, so 10 dollars each.
So you might be able to find it cheaper if you look

Ah, I was just looking at petco/petsmart, didn't think to try places like Amazon. Thanks for the heads up!

I have a shedding brush for Rosey that I love. It is a black rectangle... and has lots of fine pins on it... no idea what it is actually called, it may actually be a shedding brush LOL
Yes, this was pretty much useless and not helpful ![]() ETA I found it! It is called a slicker brush, and looks like this. Although apparently it is for longer haired dogs...

Slicker brush. Use it for both the dogs and the cat.
![]() And I tried the furminator since my friend had one... I wasn't impressed. Only got as much as the slicker did and it went EVERYWHERE instead of being neatly contained in the slicker brush. Plus it is really harsh on the hair. |

Thanks for the recommendation, maybe I'll go for a slicker brush then. Do you think it'll work well for his length hair or is it better just for long haired dogs?

Well I use it on my short haired cat too, so I think it'd work for you.
I really need to invest in an undercoat rake one of these days... |
