Jurors on Wednesday found Lawrence Mick guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Investigators have said the Toledo man and a friend took turns shooting at the dog named Sarge while he was in a cage last July. Mick testified during his trial that he never shot the gun.
Sarge survived gunshots to the head, neck and chest.
