Oh come on, you've got to try harder than that! I mean, you at least went with a Yahoo account this time instead of riding on the AOL proxy train. That's a step in the right direction.

I'm actually quite open to an intelligent discussion on dog training - what works, why things work, benefits and pitfalls of each, how to do things effectively to avoid pitfalls...

When I read that someone believes that training with treats is bribery, or worse, causes aggression, it makes me think that perhaps they have not seen it done right. Or perhaps they don't really see what they're doing when they train with aversives. Or maybe... they really would rather have robotic obedience than a dynamic thoughtful dog who just might surprise you with what he comes up with.

So yeah, if you want to talk respectfully, I quite welcome the discussion. Juvenile "whatevers" merely betray a lack of knowledge or thought in to what you're doing. Not a very good trait in a dog trainer.

Am I the only one who's mildly curious about Annalisa's ISP addy? Its not in Louisiana is it? Covington perhaps?

Um... does this mean "Annalisa" and I wont' be having an intelligent discussion on dog training?

How come this type of trainer always runs away from these discussions?
I mean, what does that say about your methods if you can't defend them without resorting to discrediting other ways?

Saying you don't train with treats because treat training doesn't work is like saying you wear black because you don't like white. Just as there are a slew of other colors besides black, there are a slew of other ways to train without food that don't involve fear and intimidation.

If you believe in what you're doing, defend it, explain it so that others can understand. If what you're doing is not defensible, learn better ways.
