Lamb Blend Kibble

I heard somewhere that feeding lamb blend kibble is not good for a dog if fed regularly. I can't remember where I read it and I can't find anything substantial.
Supposedly it can cause copper toxicity and other things. My hubby's dog has been on performatrin lamb blend since puppyhood and he will be 2 in January. Should we be changing his food?

I would suggest adding plain yogurt to his food for a couple weeks then gradually changing protein sources.

I have no idea about the copper toxicity, or whatever but eating one protein source for your entire life isn't healthy.

I read somewhere that lamb used in dog food is very low quality, and often contains the inedible parts... being that lamb is SO expensive, I believe it. :/ I never feed lamb-based kibble, as it gives both of my dogs the runs. However, they do great with raw meaty lamb bones. Makes me think twice!

Performatrin is a good food, though. Why not rotate between the chicken and salmon formulas, too? Feeding one protein source can cause food allergies.
