Default Equipment Plans?

So, I really need to get me some equipment at home. I figure if I had enough at home that I didn't have to make the 30 min drive to the clubs field that I'd save in gas in a year what it would cost me to go out as often as I want to.

Anyway, as of right now, I have a wooden teeter. It's heavy, and it's two 2x6 put together for the plank, because I couldn't find a 12 foot 2x12. But, it works. I just need an extra hand to move it. The teeter is okay. I can continue to use that.

So I need a dog walk and an a-frame.

I DO have a couple of friends who can weld, so I could get metal frames and such for my contacts, if I wanted... but I have NO idea where to go looking for the steel and stuff I'd need to get, or how much of it I'd need, or any of that. So, basically, does anyone have any ideas where to get the stuff I need, and does anyone have a plan on how to make them?

Basically I have no idea what I'm doing... Help?

Ooh. This isn't a steel framed a-frame, but it still looks decent to me: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/agilit...unt=20&dir=asc

Thoughts?

I don't know what I'll do about dog walks. I don't like the PVC bases, and don't like many of the wooden ones, so I'll have to be picky and choose one or the other.

What about just using saw horses for the base (obviously it'd be a low base). I didn't even attempt to make a dog walk, because I was terrified it would be rickety.

As for navigating yahoo groups, check the "files" section. That's where there are a lot of word/pdf files with instructions.

I don't like the saw horses because they come out so wide along it, and make it awkward if I want to do a tunnel under the dogwalk or if I want to proof my being REALLY close to the dog walk. And I don't like how the PVC come up around the boards, and I just do NOT trust PVC for a dog walk with my speedy girl on it, and eventually there will be a GSD on it, and possibly even a Doberman, if my sister gets one, so.

I'll figure something out for my dog walk, but I do like that a-frame I linked, and I'll be trying to make that asap.
