I KNOW.
Ella sent me Ophie as a reminder of HER, AND to keep my on my toes. She sent me Luke because she wanted me to experience a different kind of pit bull love.  I swear Luke never leaves my side for more than 2 minutes at a time. He is SUCH a mommy's boy. I ALMOST decided to have his tag read "Mr. Awesome". But I think I'll get his adult tag to say that instead.

I just took her with me as much as humanly possible. We went into hardware stores, plant nurseries, pet supplies, outdoor taverns -- she even goes with me when I go vote, lol. Anyplace someone would take their toy dog I took her. I started her out as soon as her shots kicked in and let her experience as much of the world as humanly possible. I did the same with Shiva.
Weight pulls and events like that are great because you're around people who know dogs and you don't typically run into idiots. Even though Charley wouldn't let me take Buffy out and socialize her until she was already 6 months old, when I did, she made great gains and even though I don't know if I would have been able to take her into crowds like I do Kharma, she was getting very steady and calm when I'd take her out places with me. These dogs are so freaking intelligent. It's uncanny. Almost eerie.
