My brother saved a dog hung up on a chain and his dog sadie has started treating him like her favorite toy. Link is twice the size of her, but she will grab the skin on his neck and drag him around. We can't get her to stop. The only thing we can think of is to put a spike collar on him so at least she will get a bite back. But is there a better way? He will cry and we have to physically make her let go. Then she goes right back.

She is 1 and a half. Link is about the same age.

Maybe not a spiked collar, but a good, wide one to give him some protection. You can even spray it with bitter apple to give her the idea that neck nomming isn't all that great.
You'll still want to start teaching Sadie to be gentler, mine usually "get it" after I've told them to play nice, or else one of the other dogs corrects the offender.I wouldn't leave them alone together for now, and remember that Sadie could conceivably get her jaw or tooth hung up in Link's collar, so you will want to be aware when they're together. Link could get suffocated if Sadie got her jaw stuck and cut off his air. Congrats to your brother for a great rescue ![]() Oh, and we need pics!

Keep them separated for now. Link will probably defend himself at some point, but for now don't give Sadie any more chances to do this.
Do they have tug toys. When you decide to allow them together again, say in a week, it would be helpful if they had an interactive toy.
