I have not, but Brady's pal Jenny was taken to petsmart for the puppy training class and let's just say she listens a WHOLE lot better than my headstrong boy does. Of course Brady will mostly obey me (notice I said mostly and not wholly or fully obey me) but he really likes to try to push me to the limit. but no, i ahve not done them myself but we go on walks with Jenny all of the time and she is right by Liz's side whereas another furry someone I know likes to run a bit ahead of us.

I took Toki to petsmart puppy classes. I think it only works depending on the owner. It depends on how much time you spend with your dog training them at home. Don't go there expecting that they will train your dog for you. They will be the one training you so that you train them at home. It's only worth it if you have the patience to train your dog or else your just learning how to train your dog.

First of all, hello. Hope your holiday was great Me, I am still busy unpacking and trying to get this house together. We just bought and moved into it December 1. Anyway, I have used Petco (not Petsmart) for training for Petals. She picked up some things but still was problematic for me at home. I worked with her everyday. I finally called in a trainer and that helped tremendously. Good luck.

Can anybody tell me how much the Puppy Head Start class is at PetSmart? I've trained my dogs in the past by myself, but I was just curious to see how much it is and if it's not that badly priced, I may give it a try. TIA!

Moving is no fun at all! How are the dogs adjusting to the move?

Petals is just a rollicking extrovert, isn't she? She sounds like her character is similar to Shiva's. They want to be good, but there is just sooooo much fascinating stuff going on all the time - and they just have to get right in the middle of whatever is going on, real or imagined.

The puppy headstart classes here in Ontario, Canada are $99 for 8 weeks. Not sure how that translates to your area. We took our puppy there to try and get the basics down. Just going every week and trying to prove how smart your puppy is really motivated us to work hard so i'd say it was worth it. They give you lots of techniques and help. Plus our class had 8 puppies so it was great for socialization.

DobeDad - I just love that honesty! Not many of us would admit that a big part of the fun was proving how smart our pups are! We like to show off how cute they are too, don't we?

When I take mine to the pet supply store, or anywhere else for that matter, it's great socialization, but I probably enjoy the pets and admiration the dogs get at least as much as they do.
