Somehow I remember a movie titled Leon the Professional. As if you don't know, it's well directed by Luc Besson, a French director. Being a hitman, Leon has an unusual "pet", a houseplant. Anyone fond of plants here?

I've got an antherium that has something eating it's blooms right now. I don't like pesticides so I may have to ditch this one. But I can't complain about how long it has lasted and I sure won't get all torn up like when I've lost a furry pet. That is a big plus for plants!

When I was younger I had a norfolk island pine named Stanley. We saved him from a dumpster. I remember being pretty devastated when he he finally died. He used to be my bedroom Christmas tree as a kid, and looked a lot like the sad little Charlie Brown christmas tree.

Right now I'm pretty attached to a few of my plants. My rhubarb used to belong to my great grandpa, the original clump was over 150 years old and traveled out west by train at the turn of the century. I'd be crushed if something happened to it. Then there is the orchid Robert gave me, and my bee balm which took forever to find and was gift from a friend.

It seems like most plants I get very attached to have some story behind how I got them, or were gifts.

eta: and my scadoxus! that was raised from seed collected in south africa and given to me by a friend. I love that thing.
