I created it so that people could speak to a vet without paying a whole lot of money. The website certainly doesn't take the place of an in person visit but I often can help you decide if you need to see a vet or not.

I don't want to come across as spam...my first post on here was asking permission to post about my website and the vast majority of folks welcomed me. And this section is for posting about your pet related website, so it seemed like an ok place to post about Ask A Vet Question here.

Yes, I do charge for my advice online. At the current time it is $5.00 to discuss your vet question with me. Trust me...at that rate I don't make a living off of my site! I really enjoy helping others especially those who are struggling to pay their vet bills. You wouldn't believe the amazing feedback I get from people who are thrilled to have my help!

I haven't posted much on the forums so far because I have been putting all of my time into working on my book. But, I am trying to help out here and there where I can!

I know a lot of folks online get suspicious of people very easily. There are a few on this board who have been downright nasty to me, but I can take it.

While I hope this poster actually becomes an active member of the forum if they hope to keep posting about their website... this simply isnt true.

Lots of vets care, they also charge... they are charging both for their time, service, and expertise... they spent a lot of time in school and deserve compensation for their time.

Most human doctors care as well but they also charge...

I don't think it's a lack of caring, but the fact that the OP contributes nothing more to the board other than "Go to my website and pay me for my suggestions". She cannot see the animal in person which is a disadvantage. I would NOT pay my primary care doctor to diagnose me over the phone. In fact, if I call them and describe symptoms they either tell me to come in so they can have a look, or that it's more than likely THIS and they'll shoot a prescription to the pharmacy for me to pick up and save me time.

It does come across as Spam because well, the OP isn't very active. If I came on here and had 7-10 posts all trying to sell something...well it'd be the same deal.

It's not that I have a problem with you selling advice only. Lord knows there are enough websites that do that already. However, showing that you're a legit person and not just someone paid to come on and post a link usually helps to alleviate the suspicion you mentioned.
