Canon Powershot

How many megalpixals would you recommend I get? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the megapixels; but they are great cameras! Mine recently broke - well, the flash broke on it.

It depends what you want to do with the pictures.

Are you just going to print out regular 4X6 or 5X7 prints? Then you really dont need above 5 or 6 MPs.

But if you plan to do a lot of editing, cropping, blowing up, etc... you would want to go for something over 10.

I dont know a lot about the Canon camera though.

My DSLR is Canon, and I also have had a couple of Powershots, they are awesome little cameras, however, Walmart etc. often carry a lower end version that takes (and eats through them like crazy) AA batteries, try and get one that has the lithium battery, I bought this one for my daughter for Christmas:

Most cameras seem to be 6+ megapixels these days, so I wouldn't worry about them at all. Mine is 6 megapixels and prints out 11x14 photos perfectly fine, so unless you're wanting to print photos larger than that, I wouldn't worry. My brother recently bought himself a Canon Powershot Elph of some sort and I think it's 10 or 12 megapixels.
