Okay, so I got in the mail today a BIG box of goodies I had ordered for the dogs, treats, chews, toys, etc... well I decided to finally spring for a treat dispensing toy and got the mini buster cube but they dont get it
they happily sit by and watch ME throw the thing around and then scamper off to eat the food but thats NOT the point. if I have to do all the work, theres NO point. I can much more easily throw the food around WITHOUT the toy, ![]() SO help me, did your dogs just get it, or did you have to train them or something?

..... I would leave it with them when your gone.... when they get bored enough I'm sure they'll start flipping it around. But I would put some really smelly treats in it to begin with... maybe the salmon zukes or something...

Mine didn't get it with dry hard cookies that didn't smell either. They needed smelly ones to get them going

The buster cubes are IME one of the hardest food dispensers out there. You might want to start with something easy - like an empty plastic bottle with their meal in it - and when they figure out that they need to work to get their food they might be more successful with the buster cube.
I worked with a dog a few months ago that couldn't even figure out how to get food out of a plastic bottle. I had to cut the top off so that it was basically a tube, and gradually give him new bottles to make it more difficult until he got the idea. After a few months he worked up to treat balls and eventually the buster cube. |

I gave the Buster Cube I had to my parents for their JRT. The only time Mick would play with it was when I was home, and oh the noise! It drove me absolutely crazy.
