Sooooo..... How many here have had their dogs vaccinated for the dog flu that is going around?
CDC - Seasonal Influenza (Flu) - Key Facts about Canine Influenza (Dog Flu) I had Lily in for an ear infection last week and she got her first shot. She is supposed to get a booster 2 weeks later. I didn't know if she was at that much of a risk...Vet said this flu is slowly making it's way to our area... better to be safe than sorry.

I do limited vax here as well. It isn't offered in our area, that I am aware of, but I'd pass even if it were. My dogs are rarely around strange dogs as it is

There was a big poster for it at our vet's office. Nope, not going to get it. I do limited vaccines, too.

I haven't even heard of it.
We do limited vaccines and go to a holistic vet office, so maybe that's why.

add another to limited vacines for ALL the dogs...
the cresties even more so, the breed tends to be hypersensitive to vacination

I don't vaccinate them past their puppy shots so nope here... Heck i don't even vaccinate myself.
Pugs are bad with vaccines anyways despite the amount of benadryl you put into them. That and the fact that this week alone we've seen three separate cases of dogs with hair loss and allergies that appeared right after getting vaccinated. Coincidence? I think not... |

add me to the list of limited vacs.
I do rabies because it's the law, after puppy shots.........rabies is all we do. I'd rather take the chance of fighting off the dog flu than the real possibility of cancer and complications of the vac.

My vet friend told me that it was recommended for 'high risk' dogs, just as you would vaccinate for Bordetella (boarding/kenneled or dog park dogs). Therefore, I'm skipping it, just like everything else!
