Here's one that drives me crazy: "WALAH!" It's voila. Voila. It's French. I'm sure I drive people nuts because I ALWAYS spell out "et cetera" instead of "etc." I don't know why I do. I just do. AND I ALMOST PUT DOTDOTDOT IN THERE.

I am not in the south, but "I seen" is common here too and makes me want to poke people. I lived in IL before moving here and, at least in the area I was from, you rarely heard it. But it isn't uncommon here. Also things like "I want those ones"

I am from south louisiana and they have their own unique brand of incorrect grammar. Personally, i think its cute and I still talk that way unless I intentionally turn it off. lol.
I think things like that, that are native to your area and even ebonics are acceptable when used in a casual setting as long as you are educated enough to turn it off when it's inappropriate. I think bad grammar has its place in culture. I like how different parts of the country have their own incorrect grammar thats unique to their area. Part of what makes visiting another part of the country interesting. I use things like: ya'll, ain't, etc cause its acceptable around here and its part of living in the south. "ya'll" is about the only thing I have trouble turning off but even superiors at our company use that one. It's pretty much considered a real word in the south. Guess I'm not much of a grammar snob, lol. |

One thing that does annoy me is people who seem to have the inability to say certain words! lol. I have an aunt who always says "sequence", as in an order of events, instead of "sequins", as in small, shiny accents that you sew onto clothing and such. A few years ago sequins were really popular on shoes and purses, you know all that bohemian/gypsy stuff that was on style. I could hardly stand to be around her at that time, lol.
My mom always pronounces "salmon" exactly how its spelled. That annoys me. |

They're, there, and their.
Your and you're. Affect and effect. To and too (most people get the concept of "two," so that one doesn't come up as often). Those drive me crazy when people use them the wrong way. It's really not that difficult of a concept to understand >.< Periods inside of parentheses (like this.) Commas outside of "quotation marks", like that. Improper, usage of commas (I can forgive this to some extent on the internet, but it still bugs me). There were a lot more, but I forgot them
