we have been in a newspaper. they did a story about Ruckus knowing 25+ tricks.
but its a small newspaper that doesnt even spell check (apparently) and they had nothing better to write about. But it was good to be "Logan county's smartest dog"

Thre's a little picture of Argon in the shelters calander this year. Puss was the featured pet for the month of may, with a huge picture, but the other pets in the home got a small shot.
Neon? Not so much.

Some of my border collies (and me
) are all over a few border collie books and calendars. It's really nice because I lost my first girl to AIHA 2 years ago this month and I have great pictures of her. A picture of her herding is also in the AKC Gazette, 100 Years of the Dog. It's kinda fun to go into a bookstore and pick up a book and find you and your dogs all over the place.

Yes my dachshund has been published and in fact was in a calendar! I'm very proud of that.
He got on the calendar because he's a water dog and I got a really nice picture of him in a lifevest and swimming the ocean. The creator of the calendar saw the picture and asked if he could include it.

I didn't think about newspapers ... in that case, several times.

King and Molly were in a flyer for adoption put out by some local organization. I have it someplace around here. Molly is called "Milly" in it, and it lists their breed as "Border Collies", even though I doubt they have any BC in them.
My old Pit mix Gus was in a pet supply catalog a long time ago, like about 20 years, chewing (destroying is more accurate) a red Kong. I have the pics someplace. If I get my scanner working, I will post it. His eyes would pulsate in and out when he chewed, and in the first pic, his eyes were in retract mode, and all you can see is red lids and what appears to be holes where his eyes should have been. It's very creepy, and then in the second, his eyes were in bugged mode, and he just looks insane. The third, he looks like he normally did. I wonder how much force his jaws had when he would destroy those toys? When he was at his peak chew stage, about 15 months old, he destroyed Kongs and similar toys very quickly. He was dedicated. I would wake up and hear "Urkkk! Urkkk! Urkkk!" in the middle of the night and find a pile of red or blue rubber on the floor someplace. We got a bunch of "indestructable" toys for him being a model as a "superchewer", and within a month, they were all gone. His last one is still around, mangled, but intact. King and Molly chewed on it slightly, but they didn't hurt it at all. |
