Do dogs remember

I have always wondered if logan remembers my old dog. It seems like he doesn't but could be a possability. we still have his old collar and i wonder if logan smelt it if he would reconize the sent. Just wondering

I think on some level they do. It might just be that they recognize the scent as something familiar/pleasent. Now if its a sent such as the scent of an older dog who as passed away, I'm not sure if they can put a face to the scent sort to speak.
