Toy
Leash Rope to tie to tree or car Food. First aid kit is good, if you know what to do with it. Otherwise, you might as well do just as you would at home without a first aid kit, rush off to the vet. Water, maybe, if the dog had problems before... I have a hard time keeping Buster from drinking roadway puddles and random ponds, and even that hasn't made him "sick" I am ok with changing water sources. Dog Bug spray would be good. Last time I had to resort to smearing a bit of human grade stuff on my head, then scratching his ears. |

This would concern me because I'm sometimes preoccupied and forgetful.
I find it convenient to put the loop end of the leash over the hitch ball on my rear bumper while I'm locking the house door and unlocking the truck door to get in. It's a bad habit that could have regrettable consequences. |

When I camp, I am the only ones with the keys, and we're normally 30 miles from any place to drive to. Very little chance of driving off, but often, very few trees or solid ground to tie off to otherwise.
If you are forgetful, or have people coming and going, it can be a bad idea. |

A reflective collar or one of those blinking things you can put on the collar. I have been eyeballing that light up collar they have on the banner ad for some time. Need to be able to see your dog in the dark..especially if they are loose.

Yeah, I definitely plan on getting either the collar with a light or an orange reflective collar!
