Default Problem with front paws

Hi everyone,

Im posting on behalf of my mother and her husband who have an englishbull - shes 3 years old and recently had her pads buffed down and smoothed out, due to her having over grown skin and splitting on the front ones.
Which was making it hard for her to walk, The vet said it would be no problem and sort the situation out but 8 weeks later, the skin has grown back and she is having problems walking again, it looks very uncomfortable for her, he is going to take her back, but the vet is just suggesting that they get them removed again, which is going to cost another 100.
If it is the only thing then he will do it for her, but, since they dont have a computer I thought Id ask incase anyone had any ideas on what could be going on, is there a medical problem that someone knows about or any other ideas?

Thankx in advance.

I just wanted to add that my sheltie boy Ruckus has always had problems with his back paw pads. he actually has go get a very large piece of paw pad removed from both feet. They just crack, and do not heal. they are very very deep and he actually has nerve damage due to it.

I have never heard of a problem like your mother is having. I just want to wish her good luck!

A mystery to me .....unless they are overweight and don't walk enough .

Thank you Dogsarebetter

And no daisy gets walked 2 times a day in a large park near to where they live, so no weight issues.

Guess its going to be back to the vets then.
