Default Diiarhea in 9 Month old Pit Pup

My 9 month old pitbull puppy has had bad diiarhea for the past week. He was having this problem before I got him dewormed for hook worms. Within a week his poop was normal. Its been a month and a half since then and its coming back, Ive also noticed small pink worms with a hammerhead in his poop. I took him back to the vet and told him about the worms, and basically he said I was seeing things, that he shouldnt have worms.

I also heard I can use 1 tablespoon of PeptoBismol and that will help with dog diiarhea, is that true?

Go to another vet or buy dewormer yourself.

Try pumpkin puree without spices or sugar for the runny poo, A puppy with constant diarrhea can die.

Izzy's right. You might want to pick up a tube of Nutrical, too. And make sure you're feeding him a good grade of food. If he's still got worms and the diarrhea, he's going to need all the nutritional help he can get.

You really need to get a second opinion from a vet....one that actually does a fecal. I don't know of a single vet that doesn't do a recheck in 2 weeks after a dog has been diagnosed with an intestinal worm/parasite problem.

Have that new vet do a fecal and explain the dog's history.

And find a food better than Puppy Chow. You really can't go any lower on the food pole, but you can go higher without much of a hit to your wallet.

If you can get it, look for something with the name EVO on the cover. If you can get Grain Free food such as Taste of the Wild go for that. IF you can't do better than some sort of grocery store food right now, look for something that lists meat or meat meal as the first three ingredients.

Pumpkin puree? It's the stuff you make pumpkin pie with, just don't get the one with human spices in it. If you can't get pumpkin, bananas work well.

But yeah, get another vet if you can't get one to listen to you. If you can't get in to one sooner rather than later try grabbing something from PetSmart near their vetting section. They have a bunch of over the counter wormers, just look for one that looks like your worm.
