Default Fear of thunderstorms

Amber has a serious fear of thunderstorms. Even when they're mild, she gets very upset; panting and whining and she gets very anxious. When they're bad, she shakes really bad, and cowers. The vet has even given us medication for her. Does anyone know of anything else we can do to help her? Thanks.

My moms small dog is scared of thunderstorms. its gotten much better since we gave him a crate, covered it, and put it in the walk in closet. we shove a bunch of blankets in there and while the storm is going he has somewhere safe & secure to be.
