I am one of those people who like to dress up their dogs. We have several light weight jackets for winter, and rain coats. I usually dress them up in bandanas too. I seen some REALLY cute tank tops online, and I am wondering if it will make the dogs any hotter. They are shelties so of course they do not NEED any sort of clothing, but Id love to get them a couple of these cute tank tops. I wouldnt want it to cause them any discomfort as far as being hot though.

Why? I think it is to hot to put clothing on dogs with lots of fur. Their coat keeps their body cool and warm and you are not helping them stay comfortable by dressing them. This is my opinion. Sorry if you don't like it.

The place i got victor's coat from also has a jacket that is suppose to keep them cool. If i can figure out where i put the tag i will come back and share. Cloud chaser i believe was the brand name.

Maybe a tank top wouldn't be to hot, but being in the summer I wouldn't allow it be worn for a very long period of time.

Sheltie coats are far too thick for any clothing to be put on them in the summer. Even tanktops are still covering the belly, which is where they release a lot of heat from.

I agree. I would never dress blaze up in such hot weather. I doubt a tank top would be any different then a coat (as a coat placed on them) it blocks heat and cool from coming in to the shirts. I dont understand why youd even want to dress them. sorry but it sounds silly to me.

Swamp Cooler? Dog Cooling Vest ? Sun Protection Prevents Canine Heat Exhaustion - from Ruff Wear
Not as fun as a t-shirt but way nicer for the dog if you must put something on.

Thanks guys thats what I thought!
![]() we just have to wait for rain or cold weather (i mean below 20 degrees) before they get to wear clothes. I know alot of people dont agree with putting clothes on dogs, but to each his own! I am going to have to look at the cooling vet. We go hiking often and I bet that would come in handy to keep them cooler.

The coat you want for Rufus seemed little bit tight and hot, for Lyn maybe just fine.
