I would also get into the vet also. We hardly go to the vet for anything, but with such a sensitive area as the eye, why risk it?

I just flushed Mary's eyes out which i do with saline solution during the times her allergies seem to be the most prevelant. IT does seem to make a difference. It certainly cannot hurt. Whole lot cheaper then to wait for them to become inflamed and have a vet trip. I do this twice a day using bausch and lomb advanced eye relief eye wash. WHen we were battling the mole and the resulting scar tissue i used the gel to give her some kind of buffer. WE have had lots of eye care experience my mary and me.

I, too, would have him seen. Green discharge is usually something icky. My late Legend had an eye ulcer from a scratch and it took ages (and two surgeries) to clear up. I was worried for a bit that he'd lose his eye. We actually didn't put off having him looked at, but I'm even more cautious with all eye issues now.

It isn't a scratched cornea, there is a discharge. I know all about those type of things, my daughter had something that an ulcer this past Feb. and it was BAD! For a while we were not sure if she would ever be able to see again or wear contacts again. We had to put drops in her eyes every half hour around the clock for like 3 days, then drops every hour, then 4x a day, etc. Man that was rough. She laid down in our basement (darkest place) for three days in mass pain and it took another 3 or 4 before she felt like doing things. It was scary and sad. Now she is fine and last month she was able to get daily wears.

I called the vet's office today and also talked to my doctor (I had an appt this am). He studies up on dogs health too. They both said it sounds like allergies even with a green discharge esp since it is better this morning and there is not much discharge at all. He doesn't mind me touching it, he doesn't have a fever and he is acting normal.

I still made an appt for Monday at 1pm (earliest they had) just in case. If it is even better before then I will cancel it. They said to put a warm compress on it for now and I also did that last night. This morning it already looked better and it looks even better now. Thanks for all the advice!!! If it is not any better I will let you know what the vet says on Monday.
