i looked back a little ways and have no seen any threads on this breed so i thought maybe i could introduce it to some of you (:

the breed is native to iceland of course, and is medium-sized with a thick protective coat and an eager drive to please! they can be used for herding/driving or for pulling light sleds.
very very sweet dogs, but some what unknown outside of iceland from what i've been able to observe.

We have a few in the area that do agility; very cool dogs, although I must say, they put shelties to shame with their barking!

I do think they are about as cute as a dog can be though! Plus I love their size. I had to go online to see the different coat lengths after talking to the owners. The ones I've met have all been the short coat (I think) - more like the one in the middle picture you posted.
