a cougar isn't really a good idea. even though they are genetically a small cat, they don't tame down like the bobs & lynxes do. the bob is especially social and when bottle raised from an early age is extremely affectionate & social w/ it's owner and far more consistantly so than most housecat breeds. the cougar OTH although often affectionate & manageable is more like housecats in that many are just plain antisocial. even among the ones that seem manageable it is not uncommon for them to totally turn w/ no warning what so ever. this is very rare among the bobs & lynxes. further they are generally smart enough to learn everything the smartest housecats can and then some. they don't require much more than a housecat in the way of care, a little raw when you can get it, a bigger litter box, a bigger perch, a good scratching post and a weekly walk on leash are about it.
