Default Maggie in Distress.

I am watching Maggi for wcladymacbeth. Things have been going well up until today. I left Maggi in her crate as normal and a few moments after i left i got a text from my room mate saying that Maggi was howling. i assumed she was just whining a bit, but come to find out she was sounding like a blood hound. anyways she eventually calmed down, from what they said, but when i got home today she had managed to get my down comforter and 2 blankets and a pillow that was on the opposite side of the room (on top of the comforter). I know you have to be thinking i had left her to close to my bed. but she was about 9in away from my bed and my blankets were folded up and away from her. one of my room mates put a blanket on top of her cage (instead of letting her out of calling me) and maggi made a chew toy out of it and several other items. I have pulled feathers out of her eyes and she seems to be ok, unfortunately she has not defecated yet so i can't tell if anything is stuck in her system. should i be worried and how could i get her to stop howling when i leave for work, how long do i need to wait before i take her to the vet if i should take her to a vet?

Is she eating and drinking? (also peeing & pooping)

For the howling, I'm not sure how she is usually left when wcladymacbeth leaves the house. Maybe you could try leaving a radio on.

Watch and see if she is in any kind of distress. YOu can usually tell by the face, by panting, watch to see if she defficates ok. See if her abdomen is soft and not hard. Is there any pieces of the fabric missing? I am so sorry about your blanklets too.

I wish i had advice as to the howling, but i don't. Has she always been left in a crate?

I personally wouldn't be too concerned about how much she ingested. Most likely she tore up most of it, not ate it. Had a dog once dumb the laundry basket on top of his crate (dummy me) and when I got home, everything was inside his crate (and ruined).

As to the howling, that is probably because she is in a strange location.

Get some of Dr. Bach's Rescue Remedy and follow the instructions You should find it at most any health food type store in your area.

Poor Maggie! Sounds like she is suffering from fear and worry. How much longer before her mama gets back?

You might keep her busy with a kong toy that's been frozen with something she really likes inside it. Maybe peanut butter and yogurt?
