Soooo... Sekai is an adult ball python. His diet SHOULD be rats.
But apparently he missed that chapter in the How To Be A Ball Python Handbook. He's been feeding off and on, but over the past six months he's been a mouse-only snake. So I switched his husbandry back to the less ideal tank setup. More head room, aspen instead of shavings, etc. So after 10 days of letting him get used to his new digs, I decided to offer up a nice rat... and he TOOK IT! Granted, it was a 4 week old weanling, but it's still a RAT! Even better is that it was a homegrown baby, so it was tame and didn't try to bite him, and I didn't have to (technically) pay five bucks for it! ![]() Now, let's hope he gives me a repeat performance next wednesday. I want him to get big and fat! *does happy dance* I love my little snake...

Yay!!! It's scary when they go on fasts like that. One time I fostered a ball that fasted for two years.
Oddly enough she never lost weight that whole time.

Yeah, over the past 4 months or so, Sekai never lost any weight. He dropped 50g righta way, and then... nothing.
Snakes are so cool.
