Last night Tsukie ate about 3/4-1 cup of puppy food. Sometime this morning around 10am and threw up.
Took her outside, gave her some water, she guzzled it down then threw it up in the yard. Pooped, then threw up some more water. And then didn't really touch her breakfast. She's not SUPER tiny, like maybe 6 lbs or so. I'm not sure if its an upset tummy as we've been driving for 3 days and not really back on a schedule yet. She's not shaking, been playing and acting just fine, if maybe a little bit woeful.

Sounds like an awfully large amount of food. Moo and Cider eat a cup of food a day at 25 pounds each. Maybe she ate too much and had to yak because of that.

Sounds like it might be a combination of both eating too much, not sure if that's the recommended amount of food, plus the long drive. I know mine get out of sorts when we travel. Poor Tsukie!
I'd give her a day of just liquids in order to give her tummy a break, then move on to maybe some boiled rice and hamburger (I also mix in some can pumpkin and cottage cheese). Only give a bit at a time. Hope she feels better soon.

That does seem like a LOT of food for such a small dog. I know I feel better if I barf if I eat too much.
At 55 and 70 lbs, my dogs only get 3 cups each and are in good weight, so it might be a combination of too much food and a long car ride. |

Oh yeah, also, if I feed Lacey before we ride in the car anywhere, I end up with barf all over my seats. Pretty gross, I know, but some dogs don't do well with the car rides.

Maybe combination of carsick, stress and too much food? When we take our dog for long drive,I feed her at least 1 hours before and let her do potty and then go ride. Also, sometimes, for my dog, the travel destination's water cause diarrhea.I think water being soft water hard water etc could be the reason. So,I usually bring bottle of water from our house for her.
I maybe wrong but hope your dog gets better.... I used to give my dog porridge when she had upset tummy. Boil the chicken, wash under water and shred them. Then, cook rice and add water to the point almost soupy and cook more and then, add shredded chicken, and done. After these gets cool down,I pour "probiotic" into porridge and it fixed her upset tummy good. Rice suck up all the moisture in the intestine and boiled chicken is lean protein and probiotic provide good bacteria to guts and it works.
