this is one that I found on a site:
# 10 oz. of canned evaporated milk or goat's milk (not pasteurized cow's milk - this will cause scowers - dogs cannot drink normal cow's milk) Goats milk is by far the best to use. Wall Mart sells it. # 3 oz. sterilized water (baby water or boiled water) this is not needed if using goat's milk # 1 raw egg yolk # 1 cup of whole yogurt (avoid skim or fat free if at all possible) # 1/2 Tsp Karo Syrup or Corn Syrup Bottle Feeding Puppies the site has been pretty helpful, has lots of info but im still looking for more and learning more before im anywhere near ready to foster one of the orphan litters at the shelter. I helped one of the foster puppy parents with one of the feeding shifts but I was still umcomfortable, im so scared im gonna mess up :/ they are so fragile. i want to be TOTALLY ready. Im going to wait until summer time to "adopt" a litter. since i wont have to go to school and ill have plenty of time to soak in all the knowledge! lol Any help you guys can offer would be awesome do you think the normal Puppy milk you buy at petstores is better than making my own formula? ive been getting kinda of iffy answers for that one. Do you use baby bottles/puppy bottles? As for a place for warming the pups, ive heard a couple of things. heating pads or hot water bottles. And how often to feed depending on age. I know at the very start its every couple of ours but how does that change depending on how old the pups are? THANKS ![]() by the way, its not a great pic but these pups are now up for adoption chubby lil australian cattle dogsPetHarbor.com: Animal Shelter adopt a pet; dogs, cats, puppies, kittens! Humane Society, SPCA. Lost & Found. AFTER the pups go thru the orphan puppy program THEY DO NOT return to the shelter, they have a alternative humane society that has agreed to take pups/ the volunteers are responsible for finding homes for them as long as the people go through the process at miami dade animal services (adoption fee, contract,ect..) THANKS
