R.I.P Sam.
17.5 years is a mighty fine long life. alot better then alot of cats get. second guessing yourself about PTS is normal. I have PTS 3 dogs and a bunch of small pets (birds, rabbits ect) I always second guess it. But would you rather stress them out with all those tests and meds, only a few months later to end up with the same result. Its best to do it ASAP then to drag out. I know how much i hurts, and it hrts like no tomorow, but one day it really wont hurt as bad, and you will even beable to look back and nnot cry every time, and actually think about good times. Im sorry for your loss.
