Default I made a coat!

It has a few... issues. Mainly, the velcro I used isn't strong enough to hold the front in place. I'm going to have to sew some sort of tie on there to keep it together while he wears it. Also, there are some general sizing problems all around. Oh well. For a first attempt and with no pattern, I think it will do just fine! He can't really run zoomies in it, but I think it will be great for geocaching this weekend.

Huzzah!

I've actually never been geocaching before. We were invited by some friends to do a puzzlecache over the weekend, so this will be our first real adventure with it. Morgan was also invited, but with the freezing weather this weekend, I figured a coat would be a good idea. He's going to wear his backpack over it for extra insulation (plus, he can carry his own things, which I enjoy.) He has booties in the mail that should arrive either today or tomorrow, too.

Now I just have to find a way to keep his poor ears warm!

What's geocatching?

Very nice coat, by the way. Can you share the pattern? I would like to make some clothing for the 3Ms but have no clues how.

Wellllll... I didn't exactly use a pattern for Morgan, but I based the design off of the pattern on this site:
http://www.sewing.circleofcrafters.c...stpattern.html

I followed most of her procedure, too.

Morgan is quite a bit bigger than the patterns she has available, but they'd probably work fine for your crew!

Hope that helps! And if you make coats for the 3Ms, I definitely want to see them modeling.

As for geocaching... I honestly don't know a TON about it because I'm new, but I think I can best describe it as a scavenger hunt with a GPS. You use coordinates to find "treasures" that other people have hidden (usually in an ammo box or something like that). There is an entire website dedicated to lists of these hidden places, in a range of difficulties and themes and stuff. When you find a cache, you fill out the logbook so the next people can see who's been there, and in many of them you can "take a treasure, leave a treasure".

I hope that helps... Honestly, I would ask Coop if you want more info about it.
