Manni has never liked the winter road salt, but this winter in Toronto seems to be especially bad. We've tried putting this thick petroleum jelly on his paws, which helps a little, but not that great.
Does anyone have any good solutions for this? I've seen small dogs wearing little socks/booties, but never a big dog. What would you recommend for a rather large (90+ lbs) lab? Are some brands/types of the little dog socks better than others?

They make XL booties. My aunt's mastiff cuts her paws on the ice each year, so this year she has to wear the shoes.

I also have the same problem when we take my babies for a walk. I would also like to know some suggestion on how to make it easier on them.
