Default Is my dog getting too much protein??

Hello! I haven't been on the forum in a while and my dog, Lucy, just turned 1 in October. She is an extremely active goldendoodle who has strange eating habits (among other little quirks!!) and she is quite small for her breed. The vet recommended that we put her on a higher protein food since she could stand to gain a couple of pounds and she gets about 2.5 hours of exercise per day.
I had her on Canidae All Life Stages and her energy was pretty much level throughout the day. Exercise, nap, exercise, nap etc. On a good day she would eat about 1.5 cups of food and some days she would just have little bits here and there. So after the vet recommended a switch, I put her on Orijen dog food which is a 70/30/0 ration (70% meat, 30% veggies and fruit and 0% grain). She has been on this food for about 4 weeks and we have noticed a huge change in her energy levels. She is bouncing off the walls during the day and absolutely can't wait to get outside to run off some of her energy. She is up at 2am and ready to run around some more and I am wondering whether the protein is just too much for her and it's causing the boundless energy.
I would like to try to switch her food to something else and I have had several people tell me (including the vet) that I should play around with it until I find something that she likes to eat because most dogs aren't picky about their food. Lucy's stomach is sensitive and so changing her food results in a very sick little dog for a few days.

So, I would like to know whether anyone can tell me if the amount of protein that she is getting is just too much? I'm not sure that I trust the opinion of the vet very much at this point. Thank you!!!
