Tiny, my maine coon, gets mats underneath so easily. Our groomer where we lived before said he has a double coat which is cottony.
We've lived in TN a year and finally needed to have him shaved but won't let us near him with a shaver. Our vet said the technicians could do it instead of the groomer since we weren't looking for a bath, etc. Tiny was so good for the technicians. In less than 5 minutes he was shaved and so much happier. They weren't sure what to charge for shaving since they don't do it too often. They charged me $5. I was so happy and so was Tiny! I couldn't believe it was that cheap. I'll definitely go back again next time he needs it. |

Glad he got taken care of.
My grandparents had a siberian cat with the same problem. They always had him shaved with a mohawk, it was awesome.

WOW $5? Nice vets you have. Ours was much more, lol. Sorry about the mats, though - how terrible for him. Emma doesn't mat easily at all, and I am so thankful for it. I don't keep after he grooming like I should all the time, and if she matted easily..

5 bucks is a steal. At our grooming shop it costs around 30 bucks I think for a shave. But all the cats that come in are CRAZY, they scrae the crap out of me trying to help hold them down. lol Give me a big scary snarling dog over a cat any day
