Default Digging

Any suggestions on how to get the "B's" to stop digging? I know they love it, but the dirt and mud in the house sucks. LOL

Strider started digging under my parents fence, so we buried a large amount of his dog doo in the hole. The first time he tried digging after that he was like, "eewwww." and never did it again. Maybe that will work?

I am not much help on stopping digging.

I always just marked off the area that I did not want dug up (like the garden) and made that the off limits zone and let the dogs go to town on the rest of the yard, digging to their hearts content.

As far as dirt and mud goes you could keep a small wading pool or something similar to teach the pups to rinse their paws off. Also keep a towel nearby to dry off wet paws.

we had the similar problem with my dog, what we did was whenever it dug a hole we would show it the hole then wet it with the hose...because dogs usually hate getting wet, and eventually it recognized that if it keeps digging holes it would keep getting wet, so it stopped.

The poo in holes seriously works. I didn't even bury it. Every time a hole popped up, in went the poop. Pit instantly stopped digging after finding all his holes had poop in them.

Come see my instagram. It's where I gram instantly.

You can go with the poop idea, which works amazingly well, or you can build them a designated "digging area". Set up a sandbox type of things, fill it with dirt or sand or whatever and bury some interesting stuff in it. When you catch them digging, redirect them over to the box. and then fill the yard holes with poop anyway.

I had the same problem when we moved into this house...they went crazy with the digging!!! I didn't even know about the poop idea, I must try that! With my luck, they may actually like digging their own poop.
