Timur is my Saluki male imported from Sanct-Petersburg, Russia. He is out of hunting line used for coursing hares and foxes. This is how he looks like now, after running on wet grass during this foggy morning. Note, very poor furnishing on the tail and ears as compared with show lines of feathered Saluki.



And this is how he looks in dry weather.

Just beautiful!
Here in the states, the Saluki comes in two varieties- feathered and smooth.
http://www.akc.org/breeds/saluki/ . Therefore, not all Salukis are feathered.

He sure is something else to look at, wow! I always make sure to say hi to the Saluki club at the annual Pet Expo here, just awesome dogs. I always feel like going "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!" around them
