Sable GSD- random pics (bitework & others)

Here's a few pics of my boy from the past couple of days. I had a bunch of him doing some offleash stuff, but I accidentally deleted them. I've also included some of him hitting the sleeve. He bites hard, I just got a new Revolution 2008 sleeve and wanted to try it out. Even with both of the reenforcement inserts in, I can still feel him biting me through the sleeve pretty hard.

He was mad at a squirrel earlier and pulled those branches out of the tree. One's about two inches thick and ten feet long! LOL

I have a bunch more, but most didn't turn out to good. I'm having trouble getting the settings down on my new camera.

The bitework pics are good - one thing I would do is try to take them when there's better lighting. That will help a lot. Also, the second one, and to a smaller extent, the first one have lots of motion blur.. it looks to me like the photographer was moving the camera while taking the picture. It helps to keep it still...

You have a very handsome guy there. Should I assume from the hard sleeve you're training Sch with him? Or do you just like using a harder sleeve?

turn the bite bar down some, it will give a better presentation and better bite. If you look in your picture you're actually turning it up

Agreed. Keep the sleeve closer into your body and your arm in more of a natural position, that will keep the bar turned down.

He's a great looking dog. I love that darker/reddish sable color. My friend breeds dogs that are mostly that type of color. He doesn't breed for it but that's how they come out.

Why are you doing bite work yourself? Most people don't want to have their own dog biting them. It makes it too much of a game and not as serious as a decoy providing agitation and you providing direction.

The main reason I took the pics so late was because it's been 105+ for the past couple of weeks. Waiting till it get cooler to train is a must! Even if pics do tend to suffer for it. lol

The Iron Cross is awesome. I've had him wearing that thing since 2004. It's a WW1 (pre Nazi) replica.

I would, but my cloner is out of red laser-dye, so he would come out looking kinda green. Sorry. :/ lol

A little bit of both. He's PP and SchH, but has different commands for each, and is trained very differently for both. I used the hard sleeve for reasons explained below....

Thanks! I love his red color. It's so unique, I've never seen another dog in person that has it.

I didn't realize I had the bar messed up until I saw those pictures myself. lol I know it's unorthodox to wear the sleeve and have my wife work my dog, but I just got the sleeve, and I wanted to see how much better the new sleeve was. My old sleeve was an old worn out intermediate, and it hurt when he bit that thing.

I appreciate the advice though! As you can see, I am still young, and I am still learning. Someday, I hope to be an influential person in the dog world, but for now, my brain needs to be a sponge!

Ah, I see. Yeah, working in good weather is WAY more important than pics. Besides, there's always winter and fall!
