My friend and I both have Pitbulls. I got mine last week. They are both males. Both nuetered. We plan on introducing them to eahc other tommorow and Im wondering how to approach it so that it goes best. Both dogs live with a small female spayed dog.
Should we take them to a park so that they arent on 'Marked terratory?' Any comments please... |

Hey there, Steve,
How did the introduction go? You had the right idea about going to neutral territory. Even if they didn't become best buddies immediately, you shouldn't necessarily give up. Sometimes it takes awhile for dogs to accept each other. It takes my Bimmer at least a week before he decides to bow to the inevitable and play with a new puppy. Please let us know how it progresses. |

Hi Ive just got a second dog, already had a Collie x then got a Jrtx collie. I took them up to the field and introduced them there. It was not too bad but both were very nervous of one another. Have had Archie for 10 days now and they get on most of the time. They do spend alot of the time play fighting but it doesnt get out of hand. Hope it all goes well for you.

I've had a lot of experiance introducing new dogs with fostering and all. It'd be down right impossible to foster a dog in my home if they dogs fought all of the time. Introducing them on nuetral turf is great - I don't introduce them at the park anymore because we walk there too often, but good idea for you. Keep cool and relaxed, don't pull the leash tight with tension. Let us know how it went

Hi, I bought a 3 month old Australian Shepard on August 1 so that my dog would have a friend. The mistake that I made though was not take them in a neutral territory. But my Corgi(my first dog; been with me for five years) gets angry and even sometimes tries to attack the puppy. What should I do so that they are able to get along? It seems as though what the pet shop tells me to do isn't working.
