Also on labs, if you scratch them right below their fur line on their belly they will kick very fast.

His tail is very straight. It's a bit fluffy at the base though.
When we got him, his hair was of medium length. He's been shedding like crazy, and now he has short hair on most of his body, but it's still longer on the shoulder,around the neck, and on his butt. His ears are still fluffy (if you can call ears fluffy). It's funny, we keep wondering how long his hair will be when he's adult, and if his ears will stand up, but I doubt that... What do you think? About the herding, from time to time we find a pile of toys in one spot, it's cracking me up

Fran does he have webbed feet? I would definately say there is at least a smidgen of lab in him
my sister and brother in law have a border collie/ lab/ and they say shepherd. He has the same sort of face as yours. same fluffiness of the ears. I would say you guys have a pretty good idea of what he is made up of He may be worthless to breeders but he is priceless to a family, H

Actually, he doesn't have webbed feet. The rescue listed him as lab/bluetick coonhound, I see no bluetick in him, so who knows. They never saw the mom. His sister was there too, longer hair, looked a lot like a lab/border collie cross I saw on another site. But yeah, I guess I will never know lol.

yeah teddy is a lab/ red bone coonhound mix lol but you are right I don't see any bluetick in yours. haha especially if the tail is straight. When teddy catches a scent he gets in his stance and his tail curls in kind of a warped C shape lol yes and if he has longer hair then where did he get it from lol cause both labs and coonhounds have short hair lol. I think lab/bordercollie is probably the best guess. Seems to fit his personality more also from what I have heard

H--there's nothing wrong with calling a dog a mutt. My first dog was a lab mix, maybe with Dobe, maybe with Black and Tan Coonhound. Who knew, so she was a mutt.
Fran--he's going to be adorable no matter what he's mixed with!
