Well I guess everyone has their own way of doing things, yes most breeders worm at two weeks, but I believe that socialisation is the key at this stage in a pups life

Yah !!! Julie !!! I'd answer you but my Doctor just got an new puppy and asked to borrow my book i!!!! EliN chose her pup ( Eli ) after taking the tests.... was funny as I had 2 daughters each thinking they had chosen their pups.... I removed all markings and collars and after their tests they chose different from their 1st choices. ! Both thought they got their heart dogs, and they did !

Julie, as far as the first puppy feeding, each litter was different as to the # of pups. I always held off as long a possible as to adding puppy food. Part of it was for the pups to nurse as long as possible , once you start adding food #1 you're the puppy scooper upper as the Mom stops the clean up their jobs. 2nd of all ... I ground their puppy food starting with a powder to mix with water , and slowly made it more course over the weeks. By the time they went home , they were on regular puppy food ( still mixed with water. ) I could always tell when the mom had had it feeding wise, and each litter was different. When weaning from the Mom, I'd let them nurse enough so she wouldn't be swollen and sore. It's a very fine line.... enough to relieve, but not enough to produce more milk on demand.
