Default Bump on Ear? *slightly worried here*

One of the rescue dogs I've been working with has a small (about the size of an eraser) bump/lump type thing on his outer ear. It's hard, a bit crusty, slightly irritated, and there isn't any discharge. The in-charge person (certified vet tech) is looking at it tomorrow or Saturday, and then will decide the course of action, and if a vet visit is necessary or not.

Any idea what this could be? And if so, how it is treated?

Thanks so much!

Sounds like it could have been a bug bite or a boo-boo from rough play that he scratched or something, probably not a big deal.

I noticed it three, four days ago maybe? Do you think a bug bite could last that long?

I think I know exactly what you mean. I've seen one or two of those on my dogs. The vet said they were probably tick bites, which can take several weeks to heal up.
