can someone direct me to a reputable forum/information site so I can research some options/questions I have? I am looking to delve into the world of SLR--and am boggling my mind with choices, etc... so I have lots of questions!

Well that forum is a good resource. Flickr actually has quite a few groups too where you can go and talk to people or read old threads.
