Whenever my rotty / blue heeler meats someone it peas a little. It doesnt always but it usualy does when it is excited. Is this normal for 5 month old dogs are do i need to react? NOTE... my dog is indeed housebroken

Yeah, that's normal. It's probably submissive urination, a lot of puppies (particularly females, in my experience) do that.

I actually have never seen a male urinate submissively. (With the exception of our lab, who gets excited easily and will 'drip' all over the floor.
) But yeah that's my best guess.

Sounds right to me. She'll grow out of it, just don't scold her when she does it; that will frighten her and make her worse.

My dog, Skooter, would pee whenever he got really excited until he was about a year old (he was housebroken). He grew out of it, though, and hasn't done it in the last 5 years.

My sister's 5 yr old male American eskimo dog still piddles whenever he gets exceited or scared. Hmmm, is this a problem considering he is 5 and a male?

Has the vet ruled out a physiological problem? If so, he's probably an unusually submissive dog.
