Default Boo photos

It's been a while and I have pictures for you. Boo is spoiled per usual - I'm working on teaching her the impossible 'cookie on nose'. Problem is that Boo has her 'leave it' down pat to the point that she wont look at the treat and certainly doesn't want it right between her eyes. That, and she doesn't understand the concept that when you tilt your nose down, the treat goes down. Gravity - what a funny thing.

pictures... I have a few - I'll post when I'm done.

She's one gorgeous pooch!

Maybe you should try to teach her 'wait' first, so that she knows she's gonna get it, but she has to wait a few seconds 1st. Then start putting it on her paws first saying 'wait' then 'ok' when she can eat it, then build it up so you can put it on her nose!

Well, that's how Matisse learned anyways! Although for a while i had to gently hold his nose straight, otherwise he tilts in downward and obvs the treat falls, but now he's caught on! Just need to work on the fancy flick-it-up-and-eat-it move now!

Thanks all! Boo really is a good dog. And yeah, she's a mix. We got her from a shelter, so we're not 100% sure as to what she is... probably chow, shepherd, and who knows what else.

Thanks for the tip SharkBait! Boo does know 'wait' as well as 'stay' and 'leave it'. Unfortunately, the human language side of me wants to use the word 'wait' with everything from sitting patiently at the door to 'wait a second and I'll be back' to 'wait with that cookie on your nose'. So to Boo, wait is essentially an informal 'chill out' command and although I do use it while working with the cookie trick, her issue isn't trying to eat the cookie... her issue is not wanting to let it stay on her nose. She doesn't seem to understand physics. Go figure... She tilts her nose, the cookie goes "kaplunk" on the floor and she promptly turns her head away in the 'leave it' command! I should probably put a new word to the cookie trick, though once I do that, I'll have so many 'do nothing' commands that I wont know what to do with them! Eh, we'll get it someday! For now as long as Boo lets me stick sunglasses and milk bones on her nose without fuss... she's perfect! The tricks are all for fun. We're getting closer though... I bet if I have time, I could get it to the point that I could take a picture of the cookie on nose within a week... we'll see.

Of course, once I can, you bet I'll post!
