a couple of days ago machuca started making a weird deep weeze(but low sounding, not high), like something is in her throat, after she barked. tonight she did it randomly too. there seems to be no connection with excersize (after or during a run- nothing), change in mood, nor bad breathe. any ideas? could something be caught in there?

Sometimes dogs do a "reverse sneeze". It can happen if they inhale dust, or if there is an allergen. But I agree, have a vet look at her to rule out more serious things.

i talked to a family friend/vet. she explained that it is either allergies or kennel cough, the only real cold dogs get. i have come to understand that i could take her to the vet and get her antibiotics, but in the long term those only weaken immune system and pump her body full of taxing microbs. rather, i have decided to monitor her closely, give her lots of vitamin c and love and let her body make the recovering on it own.
